Dr. Michael Rice
was born and raised in central Maryland, enjoying its proximity to both Washington, DC and Baltimore, MD. He attended the Western Maryland College, in Westminser, MD, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. He then spent several years in biomedical and pharmaceutical research with both private and government agencies before moving to Tucson, AZ to focus on conservation biology and wildlife management. While in Tucson he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Science. He then attended Iowa State University where he earned his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree.
Dr. Rice has been with ABC Pet Care since 2018. His hobbies include hiking, cycling, running, and spending time with his family. Dr. Rice shares his home with a number of furred and feathered family members - one dog, Carter; two birds, Fortune (a macaw), and Medea (a cockatoo). Professional memberships include AVMA and AzVMA, and others.
