Shane — Tucson, AZ — Animal Birth Control of Tucson Inc.

Shane – President & OwneR

Beginning at a very young age, Shane surrounded herself with animals and made them a part of her family. In February 1985 at age 18, Shane was hired as a receptionist by Woodcliff Animal Hospital in Chatworth, CA. Two years later, Shane became clinic manager of this state-of-the-art 12,000 sq. ft. clinic. In January 1992, Shane moved to Durango, Colorado, where she helped to establish and build Bakers Bridge Veterinary Clinic. Bakers Bridge Clinic offered many low-cost services, and it was there that Shane realized the importance of these services to the community. In April 2001 after moving to Las Vegas, NV, Shane was hired by the Lied Animal Foundation, a 35,000 sq. ft. animal shelter, Humane Society, and spay/neuter clinic. Shane was hired as clinic manager over the spay/neuter and vaccination clinic, and soon became shelter manager as well.
In September 2002, Shane moved to Tucson, AZ. Realizing the need in Tucson for low-cost services, and having a great desire to help reduce pet overpopulation in our city, Shane soon formed the corporation and built Animal Birth Control of Tucson, Inc., in 2003, with a temporary location at Grant and Stone. In August 2005, Shane successfully opened a large spay/neuter clinic at Craycroft & 22nd. In November of 2011, the Craycroft location expanded to offer full-service care and became “ABC Pet Care Clinic” offering quality services at a low cost. Along with the full-service veterinary and spay/neuter clinic, she also opened a vaccination clinic which is now located in central Tucson. In November 2020 Shane opened a clinic in Rita Ranch/Vail area offering full-service care to that community as well. Shane’s goal and ambition is to help the communities of Tucson take care of their pets with low-cost “quality” care. Shane is married to an amazing man and has 2 beautiful daughters along with a Lhasa Apso named Daenerys and a Pitty Doodle name Walter.
